The word Kangen means “return to the origin” in Japanese. Years of exhaustive research and testing have uncovered the secret of returning water back to its original state of clean, crisp, alkaline, reduced water. Water in this state can assist the body in achieving or maintaining a state of balance which leads to better health and increased vitality.
Kangen Water™ is a trademarked phrase owned by Enagic, a Japanese manufacturer and distributor of high quality water ionizers.
Simply stated, Kangen Water™ is ionized, alkaline water with a high proportion of negatively charged ionic minerals, providing an increased antioxidant potential (-ORP). Additionally, this process breaks the water into small molecular clusters to improve cellular hydration, this is referred to as micro-clustering.
In 1965 the Japanese Ministry of Health deemed ionized water as a viable form of medical treatment. In order to receive this designation, ionized water must carry a high Oxidation-Reduction Potential (-ORP), an alkaline pH and the ability to increase cellular hydration. The Japanese Ministry of Health recognizes Enagic’s line of water ionizers as medical treatment devices. At this time more than 12 Japanese hospitals, many pharmacies and countless physicians utilize Kangen Water™ in patient treatment. In fact, Enagic’s water ionizers are the only ionizers allowed in Japanese hospitals.
A group of more than 600 Japanese physicians, who are members of the Geriatric Disease Prevention Association, began researching the uses of ionized water in patient treatment.
